The skies were grey, but I decided that if I wanted to get out on to the Downs while the snow was still sitting it was probably today or never.<\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/snow_downs_1001108863.jpg' \/><\/span> <span class=\"aligncenter\">South Downs blanketed with snow<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Those dots on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/sheep_snow_1001109019.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">horizon<\/a> are sheep. An ideal time to be blessed with a thick woolly coat.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/sheep_snow_10011089021.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/sheep_snow_1001108902.jpg' \/><\/span> <span class=\"aligncenter\">Sheep in the snow<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Further along the path I spotted some ponies out in a field.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/ponies_snow_1001108905.jpg' \/><\/span> <span class=\"aligncenter\">Ponies in the snow<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I was going to head out to where they were, but something caught my eye. No it wasn&#39;t a fox, but that did cross my mind&#8230; after all foxes are not unknown to slope around where rabbits play.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/rabbits_snow_1001108916.jpg' \/><\/span> <span class=\"aligncenter\">Rabbits in the snow<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/rabbits_snow_1001108936.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/rabbits_snow_1001108942.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>I wanted to get a little closer to the rabbits, but the snow had drifted. I was quickly up to my knees in it, and thought better of risking my health or the camera.
