I'll start with this shot taken on Thursday of a pair of female broad-bodied chasers over the pond. A damselfly flew into the shot, adding a dash of extra colour.

I can't do the sound effects, but a male crow was calling raucously while I was watching the dragonflies. He eventually came into view and offered a quick photo opportunity.

This morning saw one of my favourite small birds take centre stage. It's a linnet, and it was happily singing away in the sunshine.

A pair of jackdaws were taking an early morning refreshment at one of the ornamental ponds.

At lunchtime I wandered back out to the buzzard field. Once again a pair were in the vicinity, but the best shots were of one of them being mobbed by a pair of crows.

Back on terra firma a lone fox cut across the field.
