I&#39;ve done this before, but am slowly learning. I used a shorter lens (200mm), and set the camera to shoot in high resolution jpegs (which allows a continuous burst of 60 shots, or around 10 seconds). The camera was set to manual mode (with AF on), at 1\/1000s, f\/6.3, ISO 640. <br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/horse_race_0508107755.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/horse_race_0508107761.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/horse_race_0508107766.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/horse_race_0508107767.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>For those interested in racing detail, this was the 5.00 at Brighton on 5th August 2010. The winner was Dashing Doc (13\/8 fav), number 1 in the photos. The shots were taken in the early part of the race.<\/p>\n<p>This being the race track, there were kestrels about as well.
