I'd long given up on the day by the time the sun emerged, so these were taken in somewhat gloomy light with just a hint of mist. The tide was out (I've finally located an accurate tide-guide<\/a>, which has pretty much the whole globe covered) and I was interested to see if any waders were about. Not many as it happened, but there were some great black-backed gulls.

The black-headed gulls were present in some number, though they seem to have recognized the brevity of our summer and are already developing their winter plumage.

Several cormorants skimmed the shore line.

As for the waders, I saw a single oystercatcher sweeping past.

One final shot from today. A 'reject' which is totally out of focus. So much out of focus that I decided to keep it because, oddly, I quite like it as an image. It's also a fair approximation of what I would actually see if I dispensed with my glasses :eyes:
