{"id":1764,"date":"2010-11-01T23:11:17","date_gmt":"2010-11-01T23:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/archives\/1764"},"modified":"2013-11-10T11:05:55","modified_gmt":"2013-11-10T11:05:55","slug":"whooper-swans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/whooper-swans\/","title":{"rendered":"Whooper Swans"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The start of a new week, and time to introduce another inhabitant of Regent&#39;s Park: the Whooper Swan. <br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/whooper_swan_0111107203.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/whooper_swan_0111107239.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>According to my bird book (RSPB Complete Birds of Britain) the Whooper is usually &#39;shy&#39; and &#39;far less approachable&#39; than other swans. Hmmm&#8230; well every rule has its exception, and these two were certainly far from shy.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/whooper_swan_0111107224.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/whooper_swan_0111107242.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/whooper_swan_0111107243.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Two other park birds from today. First a rather splendid looking coot, relaxing at the side of the inlet.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/coot_0111107271.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>And a passing greylag&#8230;<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/greylag_goose_0111107252.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>As for the home front, Bold was back again last night (Sunday), in super-relaxed mood.
