It's the weekend. The sun is shining. Chelsea are playing on Sunday. So Saturday afternoon looked good for roaming out on the Downs, camera at the ready.<\/p>\n
And so it was… until the clouds rolled in, the sky darkened, and a few drops of rain began to fall. I'd wandered almost a mile into the valley, having grabbed just a couple of quick shots on my way to one of the better kestrel hunting grounds, when the rain began in earnest. So much less to show than I'd hoped. In fact all I managed were a grabbed shot of a passing kestrel, and a small colony of shaggy ink caps. Tonight it's dry. It's November 6th, the day after Bonfire Night (last night, the 5th, Lewes in Sussex held its annual celebrations… see this Flickr group<\/a>). Nothing quite so wild where we are (just a few miles away), but there were still plenty of fireworks this evening.
