Which meant a long walk into town today.

I was heading for Hove (actually) and set off at around 7.45 on foot. By 8.00 I'd reached the main road where buses were running, though not as frequently as I might have wished.

So I walked on. In fact several buses did pass me, but the air was still and I had plenty of time. And I wanted to see one of my favourite views to the sea.

I was enjoying the fresh air (I was well wrapped up against the elements) and by this time I was nearing the racecourse. I tramped along the race track (the nearest thing to level ground up here)

Which is where the kestrels hang.

Given the distance, and not especially good light, I switched to video. That's mainly the sea in the background, by the way.

I eventually made it into Brighton, just after 9.00. This is St Peter's Church, a grand looking fake built in Victorian times and sited slap in what is normally the middle of one of the busiest junctions in the city.

I may well have to walk tomorrow, but only as far as the bus. The thaw is coming, but it's slow. Maybe Wednesday things will be back to something approaching normal life.

Camera note: photos and video taken with the Panasonic FZ45.

[1003,16
416,1152,1136
post-1803","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-landscape-2","category-snow","tag-brighton","tag-kestrel","tag-snow","entry
["GET
