The shutter on my 40D finally packed up midway through taking photos in Regent&#39;s Park (typically, it happened on a beautifully sunny day).  It hasn&#39;t entirely stopped, but it crawls across and masks most of the sensor leaving an image like this.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/shutter_3101110681.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Fortunately I had managed a few shots before that happened, including this back-lit squirrel near the entrance to the park.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/squirrel_3101110618.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>I also snapped a sleeping swan.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/swan_3101110635.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>But the main subjects were a pair of passionate pigeons, still in courtship phase I think!<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/pigeon_3101110653.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/pigeon_3101110654.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/pigeon_3101110655.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/pigeon_3101110656.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>As for the camera, I&#39;ve resurrected my old 400D for the time-being so I won&#39;t be entirely without a means of taking pictures (perish the thought!), and it was probably time for an upgrade anyway \ud83d\ude09<br \/><span class=\"aligncenter\"><a
