The Downs were shrouded in a heavy mist, one of the more constant weather features of living in the hills.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='http:\/\/files.myopera.com\/Words\/blog\/ridge_mist_1702113426.JPG' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Few birds were about, but I did glimpse a lone yellowhammer.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/yellowhammer_mist_1702113359.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>And, through a gap in the hedge a couple of sheep&#8230;<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sheep_mist_1702113380.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>The day brightened, but I didn&#39;t get a chance for more pictures until tonight. <br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/frog_1702113389.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/newts_1702113395.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>The foxes were evasive, but I did glimpse a badger in the corner of the garden. Unfortunately it also glimpsed me and was gone before I could contemplate a photo.
