The ground is saturated, and visibility down to almost nothing for much of the day. The amphibians don&#39;t mind though, and with slightly clearer air this evening (and working close up) I was rewarded with a very active pond. Several more frogs have arrived, though the numbers are still well below the annual peak. The newts are lively, with juveniles and adults foraging among the weed and venturing out of the pond.
