The forecast sunshine duly arrived this morning. It disappeared this afternoon in favour of rain, but by then I'd already been out to the local fields. The smaller birds were feasting along the hedgerow. <\/p>\n

There were goldfinches…
<\/span> <\/p>\n

And yellowhammers…
<\/span> <\/p>\n

<\/span> <\/p>\n

<\/span> <\/p>\n

The yellowhammers were switching between the trees and the fields, though not venturing as far as the distant sheep (with early lambs).

There was also a small flock of long-tailed tits, keeping close to the cover of the trees and hedges.

And alone in a neighbouring field, this very shaggy pony!
