Not heavy, but persistent with just enough indications of a &#39;break&#39; that we risked a soaking to head out and see how things would go. After deciding that the seafront was not the place to be we headed to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rottingdeanpreservationsociety.org.uk\/kipling_garden.html\" target=\"_blank\">Kipling Gardens<\/a>, part of the former home of Rudyard Kipling. <\/p>\n<p>The gardens were deserted (the rain was still falling). They&#39;re small but pretty and there&#39;s plenty of shelter among the walled walks.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/kipling_0506116252.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/gulls_0506116177.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/blackbird_0506116239.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Looking out from the top of the garden you can see Rottingdean Windmill, which sits high on the Downs.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/rottingdean_0506116212.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>The rain eventually did relent and although the seafront was quiet, we did spot a hungry young rock pipit calling for food.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/pipit_fledgling_0506116319.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>It got a little grumpy while waiting \ud83d\ude09<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/pipit_fledgling_0506116347.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>But patience is a virtue, and food soon arrived.
