It had managed to get up there, but seemed very uncertain about a way down.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/squirrel_telephone_pole_0308119460.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/squirrel_telephone_pole_0308119464.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>I presume it made a safe escape. It was long gone by the time I got home this evening. <\/p>\n<p>And now to the main part of the post. I&#39;ve been photographing the local swallows and house martins on a regular basis over the past few weeks, and today I spotted the very distinctive nest of a house martin, clamped to the eaves of the local church.<\/p>\n<p>I settled down to watch, and sure enough after a few minutes a little head peeked out.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/house_martin_nest_0308119570.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Just in time to greet the incoming parent.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/house_martin_nest_0308119577.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/house_martin_nest_0308119582.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>The parent(s) were back and forth regularly over the next half hour.
