For once the cormorant was being coy, hiding under the island trees. Not so the heron, who was proudly sitting high in its branches enjoying the morning sun.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/heron_1508113336.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/heron_1508113359.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>I watched and photographed for about 15 minutes when finally it decided to move to a more shaded spot. <br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/heron_1508113389.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/heron_1508113390.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/heron_1508113391.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>With the coast now clear, the cormorant emerged from under the tree&#8230; a brief swim and a few unsuccessful dives before it too took to the wing.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/cormorant_1508113398.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/cormorant_1508113402.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/cormorant_1508113410.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>It was only a brief foray for the cormorant.
