It was windy, but the skies were blue, the tide was out and the light&#8230; well the light was interesting.<\/p>\n<p>From Rottingdean you look west towards the Brighton Marina, more or less directly into the setting sun. There was a slight sea mist, and the waves were breaking on the marina walls. The combination of mist and sun gave a soft yellow hue to the scene, washing out all the colour and creating a gentle sepia-toned landscape. These shots have had the shadows taken down to bring out the detail of the image, but there have been no adjustments to the colour tone whatsoever.<br \/>\n<span class=\"img\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/marina_sepia_1309119999_294.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"img\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/marina_sepia_1309119999_134.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/marina_sepia_1309119999_118.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"img\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/marina_sepia_1309119999_118.jpg\" width=\"346\" height=\"178\" \/><\/span><\/a><br \/>\nHere&#8217;s a direct link to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/marina_sepia_1309119999_118.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">large-size version<\/a> of the third shot.<\/p>\n<p>Just a couple of wildlife photos to go with the sepia landscapes, a peregrine which flew in from over the cliffs as I was photographing the marina. It&#8217;s a vastly different angle, hence the more usual colour tones.
