Watching me, watching it. The rat blinked first and retreated further down its hole.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/rat_2510110430.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>But it wasn&#39;t all gloom&#8230; a squirrel was out gathering nuts (as they do).<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/squirrel_2510110436.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>While this female mallard was playing cuckoo by sequestering a moorhen&#39;s nest.
