More games with the shutter speed today. The slow shots are of the local heron which stalks the local pond on most mornings. As with previous shots there has only been slight editing to enhance the contrast and to heighten the colours marginally.

The same technique was used on one of the local magpies.

By lunchtime the sun had cleared the mist away, and I was able to take some more conventional shots, including this green woodpecker which was doing its utmost to hide from me.

At this time of year the sun is never high, which means you can put the available light to good use. The ducks were being cooperative. Plenty of splashing and diving.
