It was foggy early this morning, and the mists were still lingering by lunchtime. All of which means that I have very few shots from today, but instead can catch up on some overlooked images from the past week.

From Monday , a pair of jousting moorhens. The one on the left of the shot is presumably a female, watching which of the two males will prevail. These little battles break out constantly at the moment.

The next two shots are from the middle of the week. First a gull feeding on a fish. This was photographed near Eastbourne, and the gull was being harried by crows.

And this is one of several newt shots I've taken in recent evenings. They are becoming quite active now the weather has warmed up. There are one or two frogs as well, but no sign of any spawn as yet.

These next shots were mentioned yesterday, but I think quite reasonably put to one side for 24 hours. I took a number of shots of this blackbird but I think this is my favourite.

This is more of a reference: a heron being mobbed by herring gulls.

A proper shot of the heron…

And a blue tit, mid swoop.

As for today, as I said at the beginning there really isn't much to report. About all I can muster are these two shots of a running greylag.
