Both of them were herons, this one being chased off early this morning by one of the resident gulls.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/heron_0105123160.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>The second heron was doing what herons do best. Fishing. But don&#39;t tell the council.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/heron_0105123187.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Back home this evening the insects were enjoying the latter part of what turned out to be a surprisingly sunny day. Even the bees were turning somersaults \ud83d\ude09<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/bee_0105123389.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Over the winter I posted numerous photos of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/damselfly_nymph_2511113741.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">damselfly nymphs<\/a>. Well, they&#39;ve begun to emerge and several were hovering around the shrubs at the bottom of the garden tonight.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/damselfly_0105123367.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Then, just before sunset, Shutterbug appeared. Always good to see a fox about the place. The light was fading fast and these were shot at ISO 1600 with shutter speeds of around 1\/125s.
