I headed out to the local fields to see what was going on around the local farms.<\/p>\n<p>The horses were grazing lazily.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/horses_0108122981.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>And the sheep were being sheep&#8230;<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/sheep_0108122987.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/sheep_0108123035.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>The wheat was &#39;crackling&#39;. I spent ages peering through the stalks to see what was causing it, but in the end came to the conclusion that it was the wheat itself making the noise, possibly drying out after the recent rain. <br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/wheat_0108122991.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>There were plenty of small birds hopping in and out of the wheat, and one rather large bird (a pheasant) which I disturbed as I walked by.
