These were taken during a blustery afternoon at Rottingdean.  <br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/saltdean_2712120887.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>The tide was out, and the local oystercatchers were enjoying the easy feeding.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/oystercatcher_2712120986.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/oystercatcher_2712120848.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>There were plenty of gulls as well, including this great black-backed gull.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/great_black_backed_gull_2712120957.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>And several cormorants were skimming the shore between Saltdean and Brighton Marina.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/cormorant_2712121083.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>The final shot today is one taken in the garden this evening. I&#39;d glanced up and noticed that the moon (full) was encircled by a vast halo. The small dot on the upper right edge of the outer ring (the main halo) is Jupiter. I seem to recall reading somewhere that &quot;halo far&quot; equals &quot;rain near&quot; so that might not be good news for tomorrow, but it was beautiful to see.
