{"id":2536,"date":"2013-03-01T23:03:53","date_gmt":"2013-03-01T23:03:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/archives\/2536"},"modified":"2013-11-02T15:19:26","modified_gmt":"2013-11-02T15:19:26","slug":"stop-the-badger-cull","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/stop-the-badger-cull\/","title":{"rendered":"Stop the Badger Cull"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Despite the brilliant success of the autumn campaign against the proposed badger cull, which culminated in last year&#39;s cull being cancelled and an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/environment\/2012\/oct\/25\/badger-cull-vote-government-defeat\" target=\"_blank\">overwhelming vote in parliament<\/a> against the cull, the government announced this week that a new cull will go ahead in two test areas (with one reserve area in addition) later this year. The aim of the cull is to reduce the incidence of bovine TB in cattle. The evidence overwhelmingly indicates that a cull will have no meaningful impact on bovine TB, and indeed the most recent figures (without a cull) show that bTB incidence in cattle is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/environment\/damian-carrington-blog\/2012\/oct\/05\/badger-cull-tb-cattle\" target=\"_blank\">falling<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>For more information visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teambadger.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Team Badger<\/a> and Brian May&#39;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.save-me.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Save Me<\/a> site.
