It wasn't what you would call a prolific day for photos, but at least there was some late light and some reasonably interesting subjects (in a birdish sort of way). The start of the day was less auspicious: overcast with just a touch of snow. Things didn't look promising.

I skipped any attempt to head out at lunchtime. I was over in Eastbourne and the start of the South Downs Way is high and exposed. On a day like today (close to zero temperature and a sharp wind) it was not going to be worth the effort. Things did brighten up later on though, and as I was heading home the sun was dropping beneath the clouds and providing some moderately decent light. I stopped briefly at Seven Sisters where I saw a lone redshank (there must be plenty more, but they tend to congregate nearer to the beach).

The other interesting sighting was a warbler (actually a group of them). I'm not even going to attempt to say what type of warbler (but don't let that stop you saying). There were a number of them feeding in the mud. The shots aren't great but after the recent barren period I was pleased to get anything more interesting than a duck or a gull.
