March was colder than any of the preceding 4 months, and April is carrying on the trend. Temperatures barely climbing above 2\u00b0 or 3\u00b0C (35-38\u00b0F), and snow on the ground. This is Brighton racecourse early this morning.<br \/>\n<span class=\"imgcenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/snow_0404137510.jpg\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>There were one or two dog-walkers about, and a handful of birds. The magpies were relatively abundant, and though I could hear the skylarks I only managed to spot one of them. Tricky little things to see, but nice to have them active again.
