Thankfully the middle bit of the day was a slight improvement, with even a hint of sunshine (quickly followed by a shower) appearing at lunchtime. <\/p>\n<p>The pond was relatively quiet. There are very few gulls in residence at the moment, but I have heard that a cormorant is lurking on the small island. I&#39;ll keep my eyes peeled.
