From monitoring the trail cam I know that there are at least three cubs and that they are usually accompanied by the vixen but that the male also brings them out to play. As inquisitive youngsters, they also venture out on their own. I'll track back through video over the next few days to get an estimate of their birth date, but I would guess that they are no more than 6 or 7 weeks old.

This is the very first shot. It was misty last night which has impacted on the quality of the shot.

This one, also from the early hours of Thursday shows off the distinctive blue eyes of young foxes. In time that will fade to the more usual dark brown. It's enhanced by the camera flash.

One more from that sequence…

Now three from tonight (Thursday at around 10.30pm).

And two of them together 😀

The video was once again hampered by mists, but this is a fun sequence which includes a couple of cubs and both adult foxes.

Camera note: first three shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 24-105 F4L IS USM lens.
