With temperatures hovering around 80\u00b0F, and blue skies, this really must be summer. The water level in the local pond is dropping, and out over the fields the swifts are feasting.

The grass is still green, but another week or so like this and it will start turning to 'summer brown'. For now though, the fields add a perfect blend of green to the countryside.

Even the butterflies have emerged. This is a marbled white, one of my favourite species.
