The young male made one of his irregular daytime visits, stopping off at various points in the garden. He was scratching a lot which is not a good sign, though it is as likely to be fleas as mange. One more thing to keep an eye on. It proved to be a good morning all told. As well as the buzzard, a sparrowhawk also put in a fleeting appearance.

The old fox showed up late in the evening. Territorially they seem to share the garden, but not their home base. The old male arrives from the front of the house. We've seen him emerge from a garden opposite, to appear in our back garden a few minutes later. The youngster lives in one of the gardens to the rear and is more prone to long daytime visits, and brief evening ones.

Here's a small selection of photos.

[4,67
1128
post-406","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-foxes","category-mange","tag-fox","entry
["GET
