<\/p>\nI've spent the last two evenings on this one. First of all we noticed things moving around and turning up where they shouldn't. Then there were the strange shuffling noises. Yes, we have foxes in our garden.<\/p>\n
It seems as though a family has set up home under a neighbour's shed. The cubs are out every evening… four or five of them as best as we can tell. Last night they were rampaging around without a care, chasing circles around the shrubs and leaping down from the low walls. They're more cautious when we are actually in the garden with them, and tend to scatter back to safety, but by sitting still for maybe half an hour, they begin to re-emerge. Still very young, but bold, one of them came quite close last night before turning tail. The parents aren't too far away during this; we see them darting across the back of the garden. The best show is when we retreat indoors, leave a garden light on, and watch from a distance. Amazing!<\/p>\n
The first photo by the way is their backdoor into our garden. It's a rush screen so fairly easy for them to eat through. Fortunately it's tucked up at the end of the garden behind our compost area. The second pic is one of the parents at dusk.<\/p>\n
