We seem to have fallen into a routine, us and our fox. Every evening we go out into the garden armed with a selection of chicken and eggs for her. And every evening she keeps us waiting!<\/p>\n
But she's no fool, she's not going to miss out on a good feed. So sure enough she arrives, vaulting the fence at the rear of the garden, a quick look round to check we're there and then to the bowl. Yes, we're silly enough to feed our fox in a bowl. Usually she… er… wolfs down the chicken herself, and then gently carries the egg away to the cubs. At least we presume she's taking it back to them. A minute or so later she's back for seconds \ud83d\ude42 But tonight she carried the chicken away for the cubs as well. I'm miffed :irked: Someone else is obviously feeding her as well. But one thing our little experiment has proven is that, for foxes anyway, the chicken always comes before the egg!<\/p>\n
Now we've gained her trust, she lets us get closer (well she's no fool), so I got a great close-up this evening.<\/p>\n
