I&#39;m currently working through pictures taken back in July, so the cub is getting a good look in.<\/p>\n<p>I was playing around with this shot tonight<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/fox-014.jpg\" alt=\"fox 014\" width=\"550\" height=\"412\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19131\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/fox-014.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/fox-014-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><br \/>\nI quite liked the image, despite the cub&#39;s face being slightly out of focus, but it lacked something. So I tweaked. First I cloned out the pole that shows faintly on the right hand side of the picture. I then sharpened the image a couple of steps. That helped a bit. The final steps were to play more radically with contrast\/brightness settings, and to up the gamma a step or so (to brighten the overall image).<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, it&#39;s not perfect (the water bowl has sharpened too much for my taste), but it improves on the original and shows just how much detail a digital camera captures (but which is easily lost).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/2012050507014.jpg\" alt=\"2012050507014\" width=\"550\" height=\"412\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19129\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/2012050507014.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/2012050507014-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As to the foxes, well fox #2 is still turning up (and scarpering). No sign of fox #1, though we suspect he&#39;s still around. And I spotted what I htink is a third fox (a vixen) sleeping in the corner of the garden yesterday morning. Too far away for a photo, and she looked so peaceful in the sun that I didn&#39;t want to risk disturbing her.
