There are some new photos in the Flying gallery of bluetits and Great tits. I still haven't managed a woodpecker worthy of the albums, though after yesterday's near miss on a Great Spotted I nearly managed a photo of a Green Woodpecker today. It flew in while I was photographing the tits, but as luck would have it I was once again positioned in the wrong spot. Worse, it was at the furthest point away from me behind a tangle of twigs. So what I got with a huge zoom was this:

The foxes aren't as shy though. And I was able to get some excellent close-ups this evening.

click for large size file

No sign of the dog fox though, so we've been unable to provide the third mange treatment. Hopefully the two doses he's already had will have helped. He's a tough old fox, and these disappearing tricks are becoming part of the routine. No doubt he'll be back when he's good and ready.

[980,4
33,1128
post-754","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-birds-2","category-foxes","tag-birds","tag-fox","entry
["GET
