All day, without any noticeable break. Floods aren't a problem where I live. We're at the top of the South Downs (several hundred feet elevation), rather than in the valley, but by all accounts the situation in other parts of the country is pretty bad, with over quarter of a million people without piped drinking water and many others with no power. When our region was hit a few years ago it took about a year for some homes to be made habitable again.

So for me it's just the mild misery of grey days in the middle of summer, and lost opportunities to spend some decent time out with the camera.

Rain falling on the dew pond

The snails are thriving in the damp conditions

And I even had a rare sight of a toad in the garden pond

The shy fox cub flashed by in the drizzle this evening

And of course, the regular cub emerged in his waterproof coat

[4,87,1042
1128,313,1164,1150
post-895","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-foxes","category-toad","category-weather-2","tag-fox","tag-rain","tag-snail","tag-toad","entry
["GET
