The recent spell of warmer weather has brought the garden pond back to life, with the amphibians spending more time near to the surface during the evening. It's only a small pond, and we take next to no care of it other than clearing leaves and weed occasionally. But the amphibians seem to love it, and we have a healthy collection of frogs, toads (well at least two toads) and newts. Here a selection from this evening. The young toad was surface walking over the weed<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

At full stretch<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

A large frog was relaxing<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

A tiny froglet was scaling the pond wall<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n
