Yellowhammer

One of the most striking of the buntings, the yellowhammer is most often seen at the edge of farmland which is where I saw this one early on Friday morning.

I like the second one. I bet a moment later it rocketed up in the air 😀

I know they call butterflies "flying flowers", but these stunning birds ought to have that title too. Excellent! 🙂

Jill, I've no idea what type of tree. I must start to learn about them.

The ankle is still swollen, but it's fine!

Neil, thanks. They usually stay fairly well hidden in the branches. it was nice of this one to hop down to the fence. It wasn't there for long though.
