We're in the middle of a heatwave in England, the temperature still in the mid 70s late into the evening. The house is stifling, so going outside to cool off is a necessity (and oh yes, there's the cubs).

Anyway, this evening I was sitting on the patio and one of the cubs just sort of settled down in the raised bed beside me. It seemed to want nothing more than some quiet company, and somewhere cool to rest.

Cub and Words

  1. "Cub and Words photo", what a fantastic shot. The animal/human interest speaks volumes.

As for the heat wave. The entire US is in the midst of one. In state of Massachusetts, the temperature is expected to rise near 100 degrees or about 37 Celsius. Whew… :faint:

  2. Fantastic! "Cub and Words" laminate that one!

P.S. In Canada too we are in a heat wave, Global warming…

  3. I love the "snoozing" pic. Looks just like a puppy sleeping.
It is hot all over. Then again, it's better than the evil white, fluffy flakes we get here in the winter!

  4. This is really unbelievable :eyes: – I never saw such a friendship between a wild fox and a human.

And the temperatures? It is summertime, let's enjoy the sun – in a few weeks will it ends and the autumn come closer.

Which is which? hehe just kidding!

Great pics again Words, whats your real name, calling you Words seems a bit odd but i guess thats how it goes, my real name is Mark and i just love the Foxes, they are so cute 🙂 😀

  6. Adorable. Indeed, foxes do know who their friends are. Be careful though… If you ever fall asleep down there, you may wake up with a fox on your lap some day 😉

  7. Woaah! Lots of comments! I have to admit it was a great moment when it settled down beside me. As to my name, well I've used 'Words' for so many years now (long before the internet) that it's completely natural to me. We had a dog for 15 years and he only ever responded to that name (as in 'Find Words' and he'd come looking for me. Anything else and he'd just look blank).

wish the foxes around here were that trusting….all I get to see are tracks and my knocked over trash bins, or a fleeting bit of tail vanishing into the brush
