The vixen showed up tonight for a brief visit. Shy as ever, she only stayed for a short while before hopping over the garden fence. That seems to be a regular route for her. Very cat-like. I managed a few photos, but nothing great.

Just after she departed we heard an almighty screech from a neighbouring garden, followed by some strange grunting noises. Clearly fox calls, so we hung around waiting to see what would happen. A few minutes later, someone was back in the garden. It was only after a few distant shots that we recognized the visitor as the dog fox.

Well that explained the noises. Bold as ever he soon wandered over to investigate nearer the back door.

His tail is still showing signs of the nibbling near the top, and his coat is losing some of the intense thickness it had a month or so back.

But he's looking fine. And yes he got what he was looking for.
