With so much time spent with the young foxes, I've been neglecting some of our other local wildlife. As a quick update, here are a few of shots from today starting with a heron down at Falmer Pond.
The heron's may have become somewhat occasional visitors to the pond this year, but the local rabbit population is thriving and there were several out in the churchyard this morning.
The local herring gull chicks are getting bigger by the day. This one is now a shade over a month old, and should be taking to the wing within about two weeks.
I'll leave the last shot to one of the fox cubs. Each of them has acquired a favourite spot. This is Red.
Camera note: all daytime shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. Red (fox) taken with the EF70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM lens

3 Jul 2013The gull chick is starting to get the somewhat unforgiving expression of the adults 😉
I've been seeing a lot of rabbits around too. But I haven't seen a stoat or weasel for ages.

4 Jul 2013Adele, the gull chicks will be terrorising students all too soon. No stoats here either, though I keep an eye out for them.
