Monday night was interesting. The fox only appeared briefly, and I only managed one (bad) photo of him. It was late, and I'd just popped outside. I didn't hear him arrive, but I spotted him coming up the path with something very large, and somewhat red, in his mouth. And it wasn't a bonio biscuit. By the time I'd even begun to figure out the camera (long lens, only moonlight and a torch to focus by) he'd calmly walked past and was disappearing out of the rear of the garden. I'm fairly certain that what he was carrying was a rather large rabbit! He's evidently a capable hunter when he's not dozing on roof tops.

This is the one shot I managed. It was way under-exposed and focused by guesswork. I'm amazed I got anything. You can just about see what he's carrying to the left of his head.

Today though was different. A lengthy visit, in broad daylight and ample chance for photographs.
He started on the garage roof

He then wandered around the garden for about 10 minutes, drinking from the pond, exploring the borders and generally investigating.

He was back again mid evening, for another tour of the garden and a spot of food caching! Those pictures will have to wait until another day. I'm still working through the 100+ I took earlier.
