Turns out the back pain I've been having is sciatica. It's more or less migrated from my back into the left leg, and now seems to have taken up semi-permanent residence in my calf. I'm hobbling around ok, and am back at work. It could take up to six weeks to heal up properly according to the doctor, and sitting for too long is still a pain in the proverbial. It's much improved from the weekend though, and I even managed to leap up when Joe Cole scored that cracker last night. Still waiting for a Lampard special to burst the net… it must be soon. If our midfield clicks as it should (and it's packed with goals), we could go all the way. The first team to win the World Cup with no forwards to speak of now that Owen's out of it. It could yet happen.

No such mobility problems for the cubs, who were leaping around as ever. They seem to have started a new game where if one is in the middle of the garden another will come charging down from the back at extreme velocity.

Over the past week or so we've started leaving them more to their own devices and virtually stopped putting any food out. Certainly much less regular than before. We want to encourage them to fend for themselves. I'm still leaving water out, and scattering a few sultanas, but nothing that will keep them to focused on a single location.

I have put up a page for leg pain resources and web links – http://www.billdoll.com/dir/health/q/leg_pain.html

This was something I collected while doing some research on leg pain for my mom who has chronic leg pain

I hope some of the resources in the page are useful to your readers

    Thanks, NS

is the pain only in your calf for the most part as mine is. I wonder if it is blood clot, although the calf is not hot or red or swollen>>>>
