The heatwave finally broke.

Well, no it hasn't but we did have a magnificent storm in the early hours, and today has been a mite cooler than of late. The forecasters are predicting upper 90s for the end of the week, so this year is building up to a repeat of 1976. As to the foxes, well we seem to be down to one regular (the one who came and sat watch with me a few nights ago). The others are around judging by the noises late into the night, but have either decided that my 'no feeding' tactic means I'm not worth a candle, or – more appropriately – are beginning to stretch out into new territory. That's as it should be.

Anyway, the friendly cub decided to join us while we were out tidying the garden after the storm.
