Another typically overcast day in southern England, but in a brief break in the cloud cover I had the pleasure of watching two Great Tits flitting across the garden this morning. They have a distinctive song which they deliver at an unbelievable volume for something so small. It reminds me of a steady squeaking wheel, but I'm reliably informed that in more nothern parts it's known as the song of the melting snow.

The younger of the foxes also put in an appearance today. I've added a few photos to the Fox Watch 2007 album. I can't be sure but his general lethargy and stretching suggests that the garden is an early point in his morning roaming. And when he's ready to move on, it's a quick leap over the fence!
