Grey skies today. In the distance, just to the north west of the garden, a lone sparrowhawk hovered, watching.
Sparrowhawk

The garden birds spooked, and took to the wing.
Starlings swirling

Pigeons heading south

And turning eastward

Tonight, all is calm again…

  1. Garden photo looks so unreal 😀

  2. Darko, that's how it always looks to me :right: 😀

  3. There is totally different atmosphere in a night photo :wizard:

  4. I love the garden photo. After the birds flocking photo, it is an amazing contrast!

  5. Nice photos. 🙂

  6. Mark, thanks!

  7. Adele, thanks! I like the unreality of the night shot, and the overcast sky.

  8. Lois, thanks! I like the contrast in colour between the day and night shots. It's somewhat counter-intuitive that the colours are richer at night.

  9. That last night shot is rather good. I took a few in the snow, but through the window, so they didn't come out too great

  10. Neil, a cloudy night this time, but it adds a nice sense of mystery to the shot. The camera is just placed on the ground, partly propped by a torch (hence the odd angle).

  11. Thanks!

  12. Nice
