We've been catching brief glimpses of one of the fox cubs over the past few nights (we think there's more than one). I suspect they're around in the small hours of the morning. The mound of earth at the back of the garden has grown again, more debris (old tin cans and the like) has appeared, and the water bowls we leave out have been drained. This evening I caught a glimpse of the cub at around 10pm, but no chance of a photo. It just popped its head through the fence and retreated.

I was outside again later and just as I was about to give up for the evening, a cub appeared. This time it decided to stay 🙂 Ok, there were some temptations judiciously placed so there was an incentive to hang around. Not for long, plus it started to rain; but I got eight frames. This is easily the best. I don't think it realized where I was (behind a shrub!) and so it more or less landed in my lap.

  1. Hes really cute  Good to see them finally exploring your garden.:)

  2. A couple of hours after this we heard some noise, and from the window could see at least two cubs chasing each other at the back of the garden. This is going to cause serious damage to my sleep patterns!

  3. What black legs! Very sweet! 🙂
