Ok, it's not the greatest film you'll see this Easter, but having posted so many photos of the fulmars in recent weeks I thought I'd show them in action. The footage was taken late this morning, before the steady rain set in for the day. So not ideal conditions, but the best I could do. If you want a better quality version to watch, there's a wmv format version (20MB). Otherwise, its the standard YouTube (I can't get Vimeo to work at the moment).

Plus a couple of the stills that are interspersed in the film.

Camera note: the stills were taken with the EF 400mm f/5.6L USM lens. The video was shot with a Sony DCR-SX30.

  1. It might seem strange but I like the constant sound of a sea and waves in a movie

  2. I thought about taking the sound off, but decided it suited the video. Right at the end you can just hear the fulmars calling.

  3. Nice bit of footage. ANd got photos as ever 🙂

  4. Neil, thanks. I just bunged the cam on a tripod and let it roll. I find those things nearly impossible in the hand. I just can't follow anything via a screen.

  5. Lovelly video, it was constant rain yesterday and we did the Good Friday Walk of Witness at my church in it, good thing we dashed along to the next church rather than sing through the shops 😆

I do hope its sunny soon, i want to go to Arundel and take pics of the Ducklings, probably the weather will improve when the kids are back at school yay!

The reason for my theory is, the February half term was cloudy all week, then mostly sunshine through the latter Spring Term, then cloudy all the Easter holidays so far……. coincedence?, you decide lol 😛

  6. Mark, it's a real shame about the dull weather. I keep glancing outside to see what it's doing, but I'm not hopeful for the next few days. We may get a little bit of sunshine, but rain is forecast for most days 🙁 Your theory is holding good, but I hope it doesn't rain on St Swithin's Day (July 15th) otherwise we'll have rain for most of the summer holiday period as well!

  7. Beautiful birds, and so pretty with their front garden of flowers!

The weather has improved here: that is, I can now see the trees at the end of the garden :right: We've been swamped in fog for days and it's still heavily overcast. I might be reduced to drawing foxes for the blog at this rate

  8. Adele, I've become somewhat obsessed with them, and got more shots today (Monday) which I'll try to post later (still processing them). Hope the weather improved for you. It was glorious here today.
