Today's entry is a day late, partly because I cannot decide what to post. The lunchtime weather in London was beautiful on Friday and I'm spoilt for choice. I'm torn. Should it be the sequence of squirrels?

Or maybe I could post some of the Egyptian geese shots.

I can't decide. I quite like the herons. Some more flight shots?

Or even some nest shots…

Then again, I've not posted many photos of herons by the water. Some of those might work.

I know, I'll post a red-crested pochard. Always such a colourful image. That's the one for today.

I'm glad I've got that sorted out.

  1. Sounds like this post almost wrote itself 😉

Beautiful! It's amazing how that heron slims down to almost nothing when taken from the front :eyes:

  2. Words, great sequences! Love the Heron shots.
I wonder how much nutritional value is in a French Fry for a squirrel!!

  3. I can understand your dilemma, they are all so beautiful! The red-crested pochard is one I've never see here.

  4. The squirrels are funny pictures.
Looks as if the squirrels do with an Alphorn music. 😀

  5. As Adele said, the post wrote itself. Sky, water and ground – complete combination!!!

  6. Steffi, spot on with the squirrel! I reckon it's playing music as well 😆

  7. Words, just a Saxy Squirrel then!:)
    I wonder what it is!

  8. Robin, thanks! The squirrel is on an island away from the tourists so I don't think that's a french fry (or even a 'chip' as we'd call it).

Here's a hefty crop! It looks like it's playing a tune :sing:

  9. Lois, such a treat to have decent light! The little pochards are utterly delightful, always so perfectly groomed.

  10. Adele, the herons are such straggly birds from some angles, especially coming into land. I'm enjoying them while I can 🙂

  11. Darko, thanks. I hadn't though of it as dealing with the elements. If I'd had the time I would have looked for a firecrest as well!

  12. Decisions, decisions.

But there's worse problems than being spoilt for choice. 😀

  13. Mick, these are problems I like. 😀

It could be a root, or some sort of exotic tree shoot.

  15. Erwin, thanks!

  16. There are all very beautiful shots
