Today's entry is a day late, partly because I cannot decide what to post. The lunchtime weather in London was beautiful on Friday and I'm spoilt for choice. I'm torn. Should it be the sequence of squirrels?
Or maybe I could post some of the Egyptian geese shots.
I can't decide. I quite like the herons. Some more flight shots?
Or even some nest shots…
Then again, I've not posted many photos of herons by the water. Some of those might work.
I know, I'll post a red-crested pochard. Always such a colourful image. That's the one for today.
I'm glad I've got that sorted out.
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 40D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens.

22 Jan 2011Sounds like this post almost wrote itself 😉
Beautiful! It's amazing how that heron slims down to almost nothing when taken from the front :eyes:

23 Jan 2011Words, great sequences! Love the Heron shots.
I wonder how much nutritional value is in a French Fry for a squirrel!!

23 Jan 2011I can understand your dilemma, they are all so beautiful! The red-crested pochard is one I've never see here.

23 Jan 2011The squirrels are funny pictures.
Looks as if the squirrels do with an Alphorn music. 😀

23 Jan 2011As Adele said, the post wrote itself. Sky, water and ground – complete combination!!!

23 Jan 2011Words, just a Saxy Squirrel then!:)
I wonder what it is!

23 Jan 2011Robin, thanks! The squirrel is on an island away from the tourists so I don't think that's a french fry (or even a 'chip' as we'd call it).
Here's a hefty crop! It looks like it's playing a tune :sing:

23 Jan 2011Lois, such a treat to have decent light! The little pochards are utterly delightful, always so perfectly groomed.

23 Jan 2011Adele, the herons are such straggly birds from some angles, especially coming into land. I'm enjoying them while I can 🙂

23 Jan 2011Darko, thanks. I hadn't though of it as dealing with the elements. If I'd had the time I would have looked for a firecrest as well!

23 Jan 2011Decisions, decisions.
But there's worse problems than being spoilt for choice. 😀

23 Jan 2011Mick, these are problems I like. 😀

I like it!
It could be a root, or some sort of exotic tree shoot.
