The last remnants of the snow are disappearing from the garden. Here are a few more recent shots picked up on the trail cam. The fox is the elusive vixen.
Camera note: all shots taken with the Bushnell Trophy Cam.
What are your foxes looking for in the snow anyway? Are you leaving food for them in particular places?

Felix, yes they're after the small scraps that we leave there. Just a small amount and it's fairly random which fox (or indeed cat) gets to eat.

dW, I started the 'hollow' bit was snowed over so she cleared it again. It's where I leave little bits of food for them (mainly peanuts!)

Nice captures. The trophy trail camera is the one that I've just purchased from Jessops (arriving next week). I've had mixed results with Bushnell but this model sounded promising, and I'm glad to see that it can tolerate some cold! My Bushnell birdcam expired its batteries within 24 hours in the chill up here. I dread to imagine how it would cope with winter in Sask :insane:

Battery technology and cold weather really isn't a good match. I remember reading some extreme examples of how they set them in the arctic. Most of the (extensive and expensive) gear is simply aimed at keeping the batteries going.
