Introducing the peahen…
Morning

Introducing the Green Giant…
Noon (give or take an hour)

And finally… with great pleasure introducing the shy dog fox 😉
Night

Of course the most interesting of these for me is the fox. He appeared from the back of the garden and – I think for the first time – stood and watched me. He retreated slowly to the compost area (out of line of sight), and continued his vigil for another minute or so before sliding away into the next garden.

No sign of Bold tonight (yet).

Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 40D. The first two were with the EF 400mm f/5.6L USM lens. The fox was taken with the EF70-300mm 4.5-5.6 DO IS from a distance (hence the eye shine).

  3. Actually, I liked them

  4. Haha at the tree!!! 😆 Its amazing how weird shapes can be isnt it.

Nice shot of the shy fox, hope hes around tonight. 😀

The Moon and Jupiter were close to each other last night and it was clear and i caught them together with my camera, will post later when i have done all the holiday report. Did you see it too?

  5. LOL, I'm going to take care not to get stamped on by angry trees next time I'm in Sussex :left: :right:

And nice to see the dogfox! He looks quite young.

  6. Darko, it's so long since I read those books that I can't remember them

  7. Mark, so that's Jupiter. Thanks! I saw it was quite close last night. Look forward to seeing the photo.

I've not seen the dog fox tonight (maybe he got spooked by the tree) 😉

  8. Adele, what with 'black panthers' roaming the countryside and now these, I wonder if it will ever again be safe to go out.

I was glad finally to get a reasonable photo of the dog fox 🙂

  9. Haven`t you seen a movie(s)?

  10. Eek, no I haven't seen any of the films (not even on television).

  11. A fox is involved briefly in the first book. He looks at the hobbits as they set out on their quest but "he never learned very much about it" 🙁

  12. I bet he'd have made sure to learn more if the quest had been for a golden slipper, rather than just some shiny ring.

  13. It's probably a good thing that they don't have magpies in Middle Earth

  14. LOL!
