A while ago I posted about how my ISP (BTYahoo) had blocked Opera. Well the debate over there is continuing and we have moved on the benefits of Opera, especially for those with visual and other disabilities.
Apart from the obvious advantages of keyboard navigation, or mouse gestures, and the ability to block graphics, turn off flashing gifs, or use a User Style sheet, there's also the zoom control.
Anyway, thanks to a thread I came across over on the forums, I discovered the brilliance of the Shift-F11 command. It renders the page for a small device. The impact is astonishing.
Basically if you zoom to say 600% and then hit Shift-F-11the page reshapes itself to ensure you can still read everything. You have to scroll a fair bit, but only vertically, not side to side.
I've posted an example over on my site.
