A short post tonight… I saw my first redwings of this winter today. A small flock of them were in Regent's Park. Typically 'flighty' they didn't hang around for long, though one was a little less alert than the rest of its companions 😉

The second pair of shots are a first for me (at least knowingly). It's a flock of gadwalls I saw circumnavigating the lake.

One last shot to add a dash of colour… this time of a heron.

Once again the foxes have avoided the camera. There are several passing through, including a couple of sightings of a newcomer with a somewhat bedraggled brush… possibly mange but the cam footage isn't conclusive and other than the brush straggly tail there were no other sings. With luck I'll get a direct sighting soon and know one way or the other.

  1. Well done for the gadwells – good spot  And that's a perfect heron portrait!

My foxes are getting more reliable again. The vixen was outside just now. She turned up with bite marks on her face a few nights back but seems to be recovering.

  2. Adele, the gadwall were quite distinctive as they flew over so it was nice to get a couple of shots. I'm glad your foxes are behaving. I'm still struggling to see any of ours.
